The amount is dependent on each persons needs. This includes, age, health condition, tea traditions and general state of living.

The general healthy adult, should drink, according to the tea custom, between the 6-10 grams a day, divided between 2 to 3 sessions when appropriate.

If a person lives in a high altitude region , above 1000 meters from the sea level, one should drink Puerh tea, 20-30 grams in 5 to 6 sessions a day.

People who are actively physically and in good health condition, with a reasonable physical exertion, and this includes an active sex life, the consumption of a large quantity of teas is recommended. This is particularly so in high-temperature environments, dry regions or air-conditioned work places. At these conditions the consumptions of about 20 grams a day of tea is appropriate. This would include four to five sessions a day.

For people who have a fattening dietary habits , who eat greasy food and with large quantitis of alcoholic drinks and tobacco the use of 15 to 20 grams is also ideal to clean the toxins, burn the fat and allow a better digestion.
